Product Review: Perri’s Padded Leather Halter

For those of you who don’t know me well: Hi, my name is Betsy, and I’m a matchy-matchy addict. I swoon over pad-polo sets; I get starry-eyed at blingy browbands in the perfect hue; and don’t even get me started on the new trend of colorful stirrups and spurs. My personal tack colors are Purple and Hot Pink, and when I saw that Perri’s Leather was offering their luxe Padded Leather Halter in both of my horse’s colors, I knew that I was about to do a little shopping.

Perri’s Padded Leather Halter is available in an array of sizes (Large Pony, Cob, Horse, Oversize) and an incredible rainbow of padding colors, all available on a Black or Havana base. I’m oddly traditional for the amount of Hot Pink that lives in my barn, so I stuck with Havana leather.

I’m a little wary of items that I can’t see in person before I purchase, but I have always had great luck with anything Perri’s brand. These halters were no exception; it was love at first touch. The leather is supple and high quality, the padding is lambskin and oh-so-soft, and the quality is next level.

I’m not kidding when I say that EVERYONE who has seen these halters has complimented them. I am certain that they will be in my barn for a good long time, as the Amish craftsmanship has yet to let me down. Depending on your budget, this may be a bit of a splurge item at $116.50, but the years you will get out of this halter make it well worth the money.
